82-Year-Old Virginia Senator CHARGED After FBI Wiretaps Her Phone & Raids Her Cannabis Shop Feds Say

6.7K views

Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore L. Louise Lucas, 82, has been indicted in federal court in Norfolk on racketeering and money laundering charges. Federal prosecutors say she led a family enterprise that sold marijuana illegally out of The Cannabis Outlet, a Portsmouth shop she co-owns, and used her Senate seat to protect it. Her two daughters and her grandson are among the seven people charged.

FBI Director Kash Patel put her alleged gains at nearly $5 million. According to the 45-page indictment, the group bought and sold more than 100 kilograms of marijuana starting in at least 2019, even after a senior law enforcement official and state regulators warned her. Court records show the FBI was authorized to tap her cell phone from March 6 to April 5, 2026. Agents raided her office and the shop on May 6. In a recorded call, prosecutors say, she described a recreational sales license as her "last chance at generational wealth."
