On the evening of September 1, 2025, a black Nissan Rogue stopped near a house in a Seattle suburb. According to a federal complaint, a neighbor’s security camera shows the two people inside appearing to film a man and his family as they arrived home. Law enforcement sources say the man is the son of Taiwan’s president. Thirteen months later, FBI agents arrested Wanying “Heather” Zhang, a 34-year-old realtor from Irvine, California, at Los Angeles International Airport as she prepared to board a flight to Shanghai.

The other person in that car has never been named. What prosecutors said about that person came out in court.
